We’re pleased to announced the inaugural episode of A Voice for Men’s new radio show, Tales From The Infrared: Geek Culture from a Red Pill Perspective!
Airing at 8pm Central Time, and created and co-hosted by myself and Typhonblue, with this episode’s Special Guest Host PwynySlastation01, this show is a significant departure from other shows in the AVfM lineup. The goal of this show is to lighten up, have fun, and explore something other than deep politics or psychology. We still talk about activism, but we mostly hope to provide an escape from that and into something involving laughter and fun. If you like video games, science fiction movies and TV shows, pop psychology, Youtube videos, comics, literature and other entertainment media and want to see it discussed from a Red Pill perspective, this is the show for you!
We will not be taking calls during this inaugural episode, but still feel free to call in to listen if you like, and we will be hanging out in the Stickam room after the show for anyone who wants to talk to us, make suggestions, or yell at us.

Great Idea…. what a huge relatively untapped universe this is for AVfM. My teen son listens to the occasional AVfM radio show and reads the occasional article here (and ‘gets’ and appreciates what’s being said) but there’s no real hook into his world of gaming…. until now.
Explaining concepts in the context of a craft makes them more tangible. Like to see this discussion genre revisited often and the mediums explored in terms of red pill instruction.
The MRM will do well to keep in lock-step with the feminist exploitation of this genre… instead of catching up 10 years late.

Yeah there is a real shit storm about it atm ive seen. I dont think that gamers are worried about girls getting more games they like. Theyre more worried about feminism interfering in yet another genre that men love and turning it into something that they will no longer find appealing. They’ve seen it happen too many times before. Even the approach screams of it. If you just wanted to make more games women liked its not the approach you would take.

One of the comments made me smile with irony. “We just want to play games with the men” When arent they playing games with men? Do they really need the fantasy realm to do this too?
It’s interesting to point out that, even though we are currently enjoying a “Geek Culture Rennaissance”, comic books simply aren’t faring as well financially as they did in the 70s and 80s. Why is that. Ever since the comic crash of 96, the industry has been distancing itself from its strongest, most supportive audience (boys aged 6-13) in favor of trying to draw in a niche market of women in their 20s who judge art and literature solely for how well they parrot their own political views. With their biggest market cut off, the industry has developed a broken business model wherein they attempt to draw readers back by manufacturing these major, game-changing events. When everything gets “shaked up”, it makes the fans curious as to how it will effect the “narrative playing field”. But this only draws readers in for the short term. Every “event” has resulted in a huge sales spike, follows by a sharp dip and the dip gets steeper each time. This demonstartes quite clearly that the current trend of appealing to female readers is a huge failure and will not support the industry in the long term. As a result, we should be supporting any series that seeks to distance itself from that approach and targets the medium’s strongest audience: young boys! We live in a society where money talks. Every time we make a purchase, our money is telling the industry that this is what we want to see. Let’s now make our money talk for us.
