John Nazarian tries to change the subject

We see that A Voice for Men has come to the direct attention of self-described skunk John Nazarian, a “retired” cop (or as some sources we’ve checked with suggest, an incompetent former cop who couldn’t hack it in a real police force). Ex-cop Nazarian now works as a Private Investigator, and is a notorious enabler of vexatious litigant and restraining order abuser Pauley Perette, of Star Crazy fame.

Amusingly, Nazarian  (pictured at right with his friend Pauley Perette) seems to be obsessed at the moment with AVfM Managing Editor Dean Esmay, linking to some obscure blog called the “Encyclopedia of American Loons.” For anyone who’s interested in this attempt at derailment, Esmay, who has had very little to do with our coverage of Pauley ‘Star Crazy’ Perette and her cronies, has published a response to those allegations. If anyone’s interested in that sad attempt to change the subject, we suggest you take it up with Dean on his blog. Straight from Paul Elam, “AVfM takes no position on anything Dean has written on issues unrelated to civil rights and legal corruption. We view what our staff writes on their own sites as their own business, so long as they are not personal attacks on us or our supporters.”

In other words, we view this as a pretty weak attempt at changing the subject.

Nazarian also, in rather pathetically homophobic fashion, refers to AVfM as being run by a cross-dresser. While the thought of Paul Elam in a dress is rather shudder-inducing (he’d look pretty scary in one, and at 6’8″ the thought of him in high heels is rather dizzying), the fact of the matter is that we regularly publish materials from members of the LGBT community. On the other hand, Mr. Nazarian seems to think it’s appropriate to attack members of that community. We’re sorry to break it to you, John, but: even if we were all drag queens, it wouldn’t make a single thing we’ve published about you, your work, or your ethically-challenged buddy Pauley Perette untrue. And you, of course, know it. So instead of trying to correct the record and address the substance of what you’re accused of, you go right for gay-bashing? Tsk, tsk. That looks like not just a self-hating gay guy, but also someone who knows he can’t just respond to the truth.

Nazarian also fails to acknowledge that he was invited to talk to us in our last Hangout On Air and clear up any issues in which he felt we might be mischaracterizing him or his work. Instead of taking us up on that offer and the opportunity to clear up any possible confusion about his record or his opinions, he chose to go off on half-assed, bigoted rants.

Does this look like someone firing wildly in all directions to you? It does to us.

Anyway, John Nazarian is apparently upset that we called him out for advocating criminal behavior. This self-described “skunk” first came to our attention in the trailer to the spectacular movie Divorce Corp. Oddly enough, Nazarian seems rather proud of his appearance in it, blissfully unaware that throughout the entire thing he comes off as an incredible sleazeball and a true embarrassment to his profession. Here’s the trailer where you can see the sleaze in action, on the subject of using false allegations in family court:

Make special note of where he starts talking at 1:27. Then, take a look at this video which we found John Nazarian had made and put up on YouTube himself, long before Divorce Corp came out:

Does that look or sound like someone who’s just joking to you? It doesn’t to us.

Now the fact is that after AVfM published those videos, Nazarian appears to have panicked. First, he added a bunch of new disclaimers to the old videos, claiming they were for “entertainment only.” Then, in an apparent attempt to hide (as opposed to just tampering with) the evidence, he seems to have removed them from YouTube completely.

Unfortunately, Nazarian seems not to have heard of “The Streisand Effect.” We suggest he Google it. Men’s Rights Activists and other civil libertarians are even now busy making and distributing copies of that and other incriminating videos–like this one where he makes it clear that he advises his clients that behaving in a fair and ethical manner is, in his view, stupid.

You’re a real champion of doing the right thing, aren’t you Mr. Nazarian?

Right now multiple copies of these videos are all over other YouTube channels and other sharing sites, ones we don’t control and don’t want to, and we hope everyone reading this grabs copies and does the same. We hope, John, that while the Grand Jury considers the charges against you, your pals, and Pauley “Star Crazy” Perette, they not only get to see these videos, but get to note that you did your best to tamper with that evidence.

By the way, Mr. Nazarian, you seem to be obsessed with, and blaming, Francis Shivers for our coverage. We can assure you that you’re shooting at the wrong target there, since our people on the ground in  California are acting independently, and we wouldn’t stop doing what we’re doing even if Francis begged us to. We’re not all that interested in Francis Shivers, to be honest: we’re interested in a corrupt legal system and corrupt thugs who fill their grubby hands with cash by exploiting it.

And now you’re promising to “get your boots dirty” on Francis, which we view as a clear and unequivocal threat of violence.

In case anyone’s wondering what we’re talking about, Nazarian ranted incoherently about Francis Shivers repeatedly on a recent radio show (which we made sure to get copies of, naturally). On that radio show Nazarian seems to think, still, that his appearance on Divorce Corp was anything but damaging to his reputation. Weeks after being exposed for his deplorable advocacy of illegal and unethical behavior, he is now wildly claiming that this is all just jokes. We don’t see any reason to believe him.

On that radio show Nazarian also bragged about his political connections, his other ex-cop buddies, and pretty clearly, in our view, threatened physical harm to Francis Shivers. Give it a listen here, and be sure to grab a copy, after you ask yourself what bragging about getting your cowboy boots dirty would mean to you in this context. We know what it means to us: he wants Francis hurt, physically, and our opinion is that if Francis Shivers has not yet filed for a restraining order against John Nazarian, he most certainly should.

We also hope Nazarian knows we will be watching very carefully and if so much as a hair on Francis Shivers’ head is damaged, we will make sure John Nazarian is answering questions, not just from LAPD, but from State and Federal law enforcement. Is someone who physically assaults or kills people someone you want as your private detective? Maybe Pauley Perette’s insane enough for that, but we suspect most people wouldn’t be that dumb.

By the way, if anyone doubts that his original YouTube videos were intended as serious advice for filing false reports, or that he is a proud associate of Pauley “Star Crazy” Perrette and a supporter of her abuse of the legal system, here’s an unaltered screen shot of what his channel looked like before he panicked and tried to alter and then destroy the evidence, which we took just before going public with the truth: And his photo with his friend Pauley is already at the top of this article.

Oh, and what did his channel look like before he took it down? Like this.

Nazarian's "Divorce Advice" channel.

Nazarian’s “Divorce Advice” channel.

Poor John. Instead of just coming clean and getting ethical, he bashes gays, issues threats, calls people names, and tries to sweep his past under the rug. Does that look like a guy with nothing to hide to you?

Nah, not to us either.

Weeks ago I watched the video in which Nazarian was advocating criminal behavior. I now realize that he was speaking in a professional capacity and as such I wonder whether his promotional videos are meant to solicit payment from customers seeking assistance in committing the crime of filing false police reports. If that is the case, then we are not dealing with mere “advocacy” in the Nazarian case.

John Nazarian has a license from the state of California — and still, I understand has not yet suspended, pending investigation of the videos soliciting customers for his shockingly shady business..

  • AntZ

I read the recent Nazarian rants about “humor.” Firing cooks who don’t laugh? Political connections to powerful people? Nazarian’s fantasies about his own influence contrast to his powerless insignificance in the same way as people like Lee Harvey Oswald. His entire narrative oozes hatred, wrath, and violence.

Nazarian is a small fish politically, but he could be extremely dangerous. He seems to be one reality check away from either a massive stroke or irreversible homicidal mania. Are you sure that going after this unstable lunatic is worth the risk of him coming after you with a loaded semi automatic?

    • Paul Elam

So what are we to do? Fall silent every time we run into a lunatic, in a culture of that is full of them?

      • JJ

I think what you are doing is great. Great work.

Honestly, you can’t go through life afraid of every shadow. The shadows are going to come. It is the light they are afraid of. For the moment the dawn races over the horizon, they are sure (if they are smart, and unwilling to quit) going to run the other direction.

I pray for the day these insignificant shadows are running ten thousand mile long marathons 24/7. They, and their clientele, have so much pain, and blood on their hands. I can think of very few punishments I would not give them short of jail time, and corporal punishment.

As a guy who has gotten some modern day military discipline, I think some mild form of corporal punishment is in order all the way up and down. Not to mention my fondness of caning. My only drawback is who do we get to faithfully, and truthfully, administer such justice? Nazarian and his peeps?

        Yeah, no thanks.

    • Robert St. Estephe

Regarding: “Are you sure that going after this unstable lunatic is worth the risk of him coming after you with a loaded semi automatic?”

That is the whole point in using the Free Press standing up for our natural rights. Whether it is reporting on Nazarian, or one of countless unethical government employees (who follow unconstitutional orders or are just trigger-happy thugs) or some officious public servant paid to kidnap children on behalf of a shadowy, unaccountable bureaucracy. The number of the the violent acts of licensed thugs increases in direct proportion to the passiveness, apathy, complacency and cowardice of the public.

Reporting on this crook is the duty of the free press (in contrast to the press-release paraphrasing of the hopelessly corrupt presstitutes).

This is A Voice for Men — not “A Squeak for Mice.”

    • Jack Barnes

I really don’t think we have anything to worry about from this guy. He is no different than a school yard bully. The problem is that he just let his alligator mouth overload his hummingbird ass.

    • Mr. Sungame

“Are you sure that going after this unstable lunatic is worth the risk of him coming after you with a loaded semi automatic?”

Fear of violence… isn’t that what terrorism is? Silence the opposition with the fear of violence.

I think going after monkeys like that is the RIGHT thing to do.
Get a sentence on them and set a president! is even better!

  • Dean Esmay

Aside from the menacing threats and irrational ranting, I found Nazarian’s radio show kind of entertaining. . I see we’re both horsemen. Someone should tell him, though, that Western saddles are for people who are too afraid of the horse to get near it. Real horsemen ride English or Aussie. 😉

    • Jack Barnes

Saddles!?! Real horseman don’t use saddles. 😉
Speaking of his radio show. All the rest set aside I don’t think i would want to hire a private dick that has a blogtalk radio show he uses to gossip.

    • Laddition

Visited your site and saw that you co-wrote a book. Cool. Sounds interesting, I have downloaded a sample as a reminder to read it when I get a chance. Just one more FU in passing to the Nazarian clown.

  • Jack Barnes

I remember the first time I met Paul. The whole “I thought you would be taller” thing never entered my mind.
Paul if your going to wear that same dress you wore that night next time you may want to shave your legs. Just saying. 😉

This guy is some piece of work. He has hid behind his powerful friends until he believes he is above the law. Wonder how long it will be before his friends figure out that he is to much of a risk to keep protecting. Wonder what he has on them.

    • Suzanne McCarley

You’ve seen Paul in his dress??? I’m so jealous I’m gonna cry!

      • Jack Barnes

        Actually it wasn’t a dress.

        It was a mini-skirt.

        I cried too.

All jokes aside. You wrote another great article. This guy doesn’t know who he messing with. He has screwed up and he knows it. But his whole life he has been above the law and bullied anyone who dared tocall him out on it. But it won’t work this time. This time he is fighting an army.
If accusations of cross-dressing is the best this guy can do he really doesn’t want to mess with Paul.

  • Andy Bob

Why are AVfM’s opponents fixated on Paul Elam’s bottom?

Commenter, ‘Not a fan of A Voice for Men’, urges Mr Nazarian to tamper with those Texan glutes in a most unseemly fashion. Feminist ‘debater’, Ms notsince67 revealed a similar pre-occupation just before she dissolved into an incoherent puddle of feminist bile.

Paul Elam is also very tall, which is always predictably bound to get the goat of a man who would look more at home in Middle Earth than underfoot in show business in the Land of the Beautiful People. No prizes for guessing the source of this man’s bitterness.

Dean Esmay’s only misdeed was to highlight the cronyism that infects the peer review system that undermines the veracity of published scientific research – something that was known and condemned by truth seekers like himself long before Mr Esmay’s heroic beard was little more than promising stubble on his handsome mug.

As for Dr Palmatier, I can only deduce that she has been denounced for being captured in a screen freeze that failed to feature those legendary dimple in the manner they deserve. John Nazarian has not offered any explanation whatsoever as to why this vision of Pre-Raphaelite loveliness made his Stooge cut.

Portrait of a show pony that has strayed from the path of integrity and found himself sinking into the bog he created by unsuccessfully attempting to urinate over the wrong people. Bye, bye Mr Nazarian – it’s the glue factory for you.

  • nawotsme

Lawyers who do not wish to breach codes of ethics will refer you to someone who can breach these codes. Enter the P.I.

I’ve seen this ‘contracting out’ dirty work in insurance claims and relationship breakdowns on numerous occasions.

I hope Nazarians videos bring attention to what many in this industry are actually involved in, criminality. Where I live one of the largest group of customers of P. I. s is our government departments. I’m not holding my breath on any investigation or regulation of the industry.

    • nawotsme

I thought I’d add an example of what I’m talking about.

One of our P.I.s here has been known to video himself getting a large dog to attack a man who was in a wheelchair as a result of a car accident. This to see whether he was faking the injuries.

How do I know this, he was a go to man for a government department I worked for.

  • MGTOW-man

“That looks like not just a self-hating gay guy, but also someone who knows he can’t just respond to the truth.”

    Blew him away!

Me too, for I shot out of my chair with glee.

I have been saying for a long time, based on my own observations, that homophobes might be people who hate themselves for being “that way” too but want to try and prove (lie) they don’t have thoughts like that. Ooooh no, not THEM!

However, they systematically ignore the elephant in the room: just why do THEY need to prove it? It really raises a big ole banner over their heads as “suspect”. They would fare much better to shut up, continue their puppetry, hiding, and cowardice…for there are millions and billions of straight men and women who never have foul things to say about gay people—precisely because they do not even think about it much. So, why do the homophobes have it on THEIR minds soooooooooo much? Yep! Sounds desperate huh? Just saying.

I often refer to homophobes, gay stuff, and the like, for one reason here. I have done this even when it doesn’t seem relevant (but is, actually, just that others might not see it) because I believe that average mens behavior is at fault too, just as feminism is.

Men care so much about being thought of as a (real) man that they take it to heart…in fact, so much that this is the main driving force behind their apparent inability to be honest with women when it comes to women/feminists dismantling or destruction of all we hold/held dear. >>You MUST get you a girl, copulate, try to be a father, and all that jazz (blah, blah, blah) or else you can’t be a “man”.<< Tied to this is the practice of so many men making sure they are viewed as liking women…read—that they are not gay.

Since I am a strong proponent of changing mens misconceptions of what it takes to be a man, the gay issue is fertile ground for me to pounce. Indeed, I truly believe that a gay man can be just as much or more of a real man as any other male and especially over that of the puppet-like, obedient, herd-loving duped men who think only they hold the reigns (and can define real manhood).

To that I say BULL!!! Manhood is not a product of body parts and their activity, frequency, or anything else in that degrading arena. Period.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to make it clear why I call up this issue so much. I truly believe it is at the center of what has driven men to be sooo stupid. To quote Harvey Mansfield: "There has been an astonishing lack of resistance [by men, to feminism]" ..and I place men afraid of what people will think of them as front-center too.

As men, we must not care what people think about us here. We can't…if we do, we can't win.

  • whiic

Nazarian is just so busted. Also I like how he tries to put “blame” on AVFM… on grounds of… cross-dressing. WTF? Sounds seriously like running out of arguments.

The real doublethink is probably yet to raise it’s head:
    – Nazarian is a sleazebag even that even most feminists would identify him as such (after all, he’s doing it for money, admits it openly and doesn’t care a shit about white-knighting if money is not involved).
    – He’s making AVFM as an anti-thesis for his nihilistic ideology (or the lack of ideology altogether, which ever expression you’d prefer).

Bets on how they’re going to deal with Nazarian? It’s obvious no-one’s going to side with him: not even lawyers as they’re wise enough to not admit publicly they spread the same advice to divorce-seeking wives..

My guess is the most common response outside of MHRM will be: silence. Not silence as a verb (i.e to strip other people of freedom of speech) but a noun (to voluntarily remain silent and not draw attention to it). Lawyers will remain silent to protect their income. Feminists would remain silent to not share a single opinion with MHRM (plus, they actually want to agree with Nazarian – they just can’t do so publicly).

Mmmmm….Paul Elam in a dress. Now that might be a way to raise some money for AVfM!

well he is hunting down the video , i had the takedown notice today from youtube .
