As of 12:55pm Calgary time Friday 17 April, Sage Gerard has informed us that the Honey Badger Brigade has absolutely been banned from every event owned by Calgary Expo. Alison Tieman was isolated by security and security refused to allow anyone else to hear them having their discussion with Tieman.
They then threatened to escort all members of the Honey Badger Brigade out if they did not leave immediately. Security returned with Alison to the booth to inform all present that they were being asked to leave.
Security noticed that a tape recorder was running and refused to state a specific reason for why they were all being asked to leave. Further conversations with security have indicated that the cause for their expulsion was due to “at least 20” allegations of harassment by attendees and possibly panel members by members of the Honey Badger Brigade.
In this panel discussion, only Alison Tieman and Sage Gerard were even present from the Honey Badger Brigade. They have a recording of the entire panel discussion and, according to Gerard, the recording shows there was zero harassment of anyone.
The Honey Badgers have fragmented around the Calgary as they are all looking into what can be done about this and figuring out what they’re going to do for the rest of the duration of the expo.
Expect more updates here and on the various social media used by the Honey Badgers.
*Update*: An earlier version of this story named the wrong company as the owner of the Expo. Our apology for the error.–Eds
