On February 1, 2014 the on-line magazine A Voice for Men opens its Italian version.
A Voice for Men was founded by Paul Elam in 2009, when, after 20 years of working experience in the mental health field, he became increasingly concerned about the treatment of men and boys.
The site has been a success in the U.S. and the world at large, and now ranks with its millions of visitors as one of the 35,000 largest web pages in the world and among the 12,000 largest in the United States. The Italian version, already on-line during its construction stage, attracted 366,000 visitors in this month.
A Voice for Men (often called AVfM) is a part of the “Mens Human Rights movement” (MHRM) that is rapidly growing in all parts of the world. This is in response to the increasing injustice and abuse that occurs primarily against men and boys in our communities.
AVfM is for absolute equal rights between men and women, and is highly critical of both the feminist and the traditionalist view of men and women, male and female, and especially the contempt that characterizes the perception of men and men’s rights in the world today.
AVfM takes an absolute stance against violence, racism and sexism. Its management emphasizes that it is part of a peaceful movement working for human rights and a greater empathy for the men and boys in our society.
Besides Paul Elam, the esteemed author Warren Farrell, Erin Pizzey the founder of the domestic violence shelter network, esteemed academician Miles Groth and many other important figures in the international academia and media are contributors to A Voice for Men
