If the world actually responded to common sense, Typhonblue(Asha James) would defeat feminism all by herself.
In this video she does a bit of deconstructive surgery on Anita Sarkeesian, who of all people on the planet is now on the internet complaining about damseling in video game tropes.
Holy Hypocritiception Batman!
Well, it really does seem to be Anita Sarkeesian Weekend around here. She should be able to pull enough content from this video and the two articles to con her way into retirement.
It would almost seem worth it.

“Irony.”
Your subtle understatement is breathtaking, which is not to say that dropping reality onto her head from the top of a canyon cliff (you know, like an anvil?) would make an impression anyway.
You are a class act, Asha.
Sorry for being off topic here but my divorce has been finalized.Paid lot of blood money and it will be confirmed after six months. Now i am going full MGTOW.
As i said before,Indian parliament have passed new anti rape law in feb and my state has also passed a series of laws to give more power to women. This trend will continue for another 50 years.
I don’t hope Indian laws will ever change. The only real opposition to institutionalized feminism will be from declining economy and something else(population of people of particular religion).
Just my two words.Goodbuy
I do agree that the damsel thing is silly but in video games? I couldn’t care less, they’re video games. What Anita seems to think is that the whole ‘damsel in distress’ thing is some sort of male conspiracy, when in reality it’s mainly women who instigate that sort of behaviour(like she did), men just react to it.
Thank-you for this delicious exploration of total irony. From the first stanza I have been chuckling as I could not believe the un-aware (?) chutzpa of Antia Sarkeesian. So yes, another inspired descriptive MRA term – Damselception – has been added to the Cliterati’s Field Guide.
I actually have to agree with Anita that damsels in distress is totally sexist (bare with me, i’m going somewhere with this).
Damsels in Distress are totally sexist, because its a self fulfilling prophercy: Damsels are women, an distress is the negative consequences of plot. There can’t be any male damsels in distress, because men can’t be damsels… So essentially Anita created a scenario where something had to be sexist… Except for when i change the language a little.
Secondary & tertiary supporting characters in need of saving by the protagonist.
So is that still sexist now that i’ve removed the loaded gendered language? After all its exactly the same paradigm, except that i’ve removed all the gendered langauage that peoples brains knee jerk at.
An lets be honest, now that i’ve properly pointed it out, how many of us are suddenly realising that we actually spend more time rescuing male characters from peril, but it doesn’t really make an impact on us, because we consider men much more expendable then women…
Take a game like the Dragon Age series: God i think i might have saved every single male character in my group in the first dame & the expansion… an my dog… An about 90% of the named male characters.
Damsel in distress – bad.
So, what does Anita have to say about strong women who kick ass, who have agency like men?
From two years ago:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=fYGiKDpjwfE&feature=endscreen
Key quotes: “Hollywood, you need to get over the simplistic notion that ‘sexy chicks doing dude stuff’ is somehow empowering….squeezing women into the mold of the male action hero does not make a strong female character.”
Well, then what the fuck does make a strong female character, Anita? One who talks to another woman about shoes?
I left this comment at the link:
So, a weak damsel in distress is misogyny, AND a strong, ass-kicking woman is misogyny. Basically, if it makes guys happy, misogyny. Awesome. Perhaps a movie with two women talking endlessly about shoes would be empowering? Because I can promise you, guys will hate it.
