In the words of men…

Oh my God, 41 minutes. That was my first thought when I saw a link to this video in my skype box courtesy of Kristina Hansen – with her insistence that I had to watch it.

I exhaled. Shit, I thought, this better be good. Then, before I clicked through to watch, I saw that two others on my list had pinged me the same video.

All I can say now is find 41 minutes to watch this, and then go thank her and sub to her channel.

Please. PE

I have been subbed to her.
Like I said on her video, I have a few stories like this.
    She’s a very compassionate person.
    It shows in the video.
I am glad she’s such a strong supporter for men’s rights.

  2. A remarkable video. I’ve rarely seen anything so moving, or so full of compassion. To anyone who might think 41 minutes is too big a chunk out of their busy lives, I ask them to reconsider. I’m now going to put links to this piece on my blogs.

Even though she doesn’t identify as an MRA she’s a boon for the movement. A true egalitarian.

I feel so humbled to be featured on AVFM – that’s not something I was expecting! Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support. I’m so glad that more people will have a chance to hear these stories. We cannot let the ruined lives and especially the prematurely ended lives of these men be in vain.

I find it very telling that as soon as a feminist hears I fight for men’s rights, they state how MRA’s are all just fat fedora wearers who hate women. They tell me the only way I think the way I do is because of “internalized misogyny” or, more insultingly, because I “want attention from guys”. When I see the sincere kindness, respect, and gratitude I have been afforded, I feel very proud and comfortable to say that although overall I consider myself a gender egalitarian (partially because there are many countries in the world where women’s rights are still being compromised as well as LGBT* individuals) I stand with the MRM. I like to hope I can be an MRA, too, even if it’s only part of what I may call myself.

Thank you very much to all who have watched, shared, and commented on this video. A special thank you to Paul Elam for taking the time to share it here.

    • Hi Stefanie. Thanks for an impressive video, more touching than I can possibly admit as a Brit, because the penalties under our ‘stiff upper lip’ legislation are severe. If you email me at mb1957@hotmail.co.uk I may be willing to admit more. I’ve posted the piece on two of my blogs, and hope to see more of your pieces on AVfM over time. AVfM is a very supportive place for women who care about men’s human rights as well as women’s human rights.

Thank you for your kind words and for sharing the video, Mike! LOL At the Brit humour ;) I love seeing this movement taking place all over the world. It’s fantastic. I think it’s vile that feminists have painted this movement as ‘men who hate women’ when it’s simply not true.

And those I come across who actually do hate women and speak horribly towards the female gender? We all call them out. Unlike feminists, we do not ignore, condone, or glorify the behaviour of those who are sexist and full of hate. Unlike feminists, there is not a single prominent and generally respected MRA leader who has made sexist and hateful remarks. Unlike femininists, when we say “not all MRA’s are like that”, we have a leg to fucking stand on.

        • Thanks Stefanie. Having thought about the matter for over four years, I honestly think misogyny is a projection of the large number of misandrous women who think, ‘Like many women, I hate men, so I assume many men hate women!’

My experience has been very different. Even when men have suffered terribly at the hands of individual women – e.g. through being denied acces to their children, or false rape acccusations – they don’t hate women in general. Men are hard-wired to be protective towards men and chldren – being prepared to give up their lives for them, if required – and this ‘hard wiring’ is reinforced by socialisation.

This is both their strength as well as their weakness.

          • Bewildered, I agree. That’s surely a key enduring problem of the MHRM. But like all evil ideologies feminism is a relentlessy greedy monster. With each year that passes it enrages more and more men, and attracts the opposition of more and more women who have sons, husbands and boyfriends, fathers, brothers, male friends and acquaintances. It’s only a matter of time before the forest fires start burning, and there’s a lot of tinder-dry vegetation which is going to burn fiercely. Feminists don’t have the resources to extinguish more than a few of those fires, and if they try to do so, they’ll surely burn.

        • MOST MRAs are not “like that.” Legal equality is exactly what we fight for. The slurs and innuendos suggesting otherwise, are just more feminist lies. They can’t afford for anyone to see that we’re not “evil misogynists.” I suspect it won’t belong before you see that for yourself.

Welcome. That video was stunning. It’s stories, told with compassion by a woman, will open many eyes. Disillusioned men will be relieved to see that a young woman who “gets it,” and women can’t simply dismiss you, because you are a woman.

          • Oh absolutely, I do not see MRA’s as misogynists at all. Even when I used to be a feminist I didn’t see the issue, because though I was constantly TOLD they were misogynists, I never saw anything to indicate this from their own mouths.

And thank you so much for watching and giving me the platform to share those stories. Exactly. I’m going to use my female privilege for good.

    • Good video Stephanie.

There seems to be a problem with the audio. It is very hard to listen for me. It seems like too much high frequency reverberation.

You could try a room with more carpet and upholstery or hang some blankets on the wall. You may be using a sensitive omnidirectional microphone that is picking up too much room reflection. A short range cardiod mike would stop this but you would have to learn mike technique.
It would best to use what is readily available to you.

To Stefanie from the swamp Down Under.

It is a rare thing to witness, where a woman will show internal emotions when affected by a painful story told by a man. Most so-called normal women would use words; words that have a degree of emotional sterility about them, but words of disapproval nonetheless.

Normally, the overwhelming majority of women are never moved to showing emotion publicly over such stories, because they have been conditioned from childhood to believe that the pain men suffer is less than theirs and is indeed not to be overly concerned with. That is what most women do, but the feminists openly scorn men’s suffering.

You on the other hand have shown such emotion, even at your own surprise, why?
Because you are obviously a ‘mature woman’ who is in touch with humanity and you see the pain of men also, which is a very rare gift in this world that hates men so much.

I take my hat of to you Stefanie and thank you for putting yourself behind those brothers of mine whose emails you read out.

Please, if you are so inclined, stand with us in this battle, because we need many more good women who are prepared to suffer being attacked while we fight for the Human Rights of Boys and Men!

And for that reason, we now refer to ourselves as MHRA’s, who are in the MHRM.

I am not fat and I do not wear a fedora. Nor an I am an “MRA”. (I’m just a non-feminist.)

Nevertheless, picture me doffing a virtual fedora with a grand theatrical gesture, and bowing deeply. I do this, not because you are a woman, but because I wish to honor you. In my considered opinion, you have earned it. :)

I hope that your call for stories remains as a standing offer. I’m sure that as the word gets out, you will get more and more material pouring in, and you will be able to make many videos such as this.

Why, you could even make it a career of sorts, and…who knows, maybe start a trend?

But whatever form your future endeavors might take, please keep up the excellent work.

LOL I have not really actually seen many fat fedora wearing MRA’s – not that there’s anything wrong with that, anyways.

Thank you so very much. I appreciate that, and it seems to be a common thing in this community. I am not being told that what I’m doing is dependent on my being a woman or not being a woman, unlike many feminist communities. I’m actually being treated on my own merit, which is excellent. Not to say I don’t appreciate saying that they appreciate my giving a woman’s perspective, I do see that as valid, but for a group who is supposed to hate women I sure haven’t seen it.

It absolutely stands as an offer – I’ve gotten more stories already! I’ve found a good platform but it’s the stories of those who come forward who make the message what it is.

      :)

Stephanie, that was a very powerful video. I wonder if you and the other women who speak with compassion, and understand the alienation many men experience, realize just how much. When watching your video, some of my disillusionment eased, I was reminded of Bob Dylan’s song “Shelter from the Storm” on Blood on the Tracks

“Suddenly I turned around and she was standin’ there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
“Come in,” she said, “I’ll give you shelter from the storm”

  10. Thank you Stephanie for presenting these men’s stories and highlighting the human face of the suffering that men who are subject to false allegations and sexual assault experience. It’s not often that I am moved to tears but by the end of this video they were flowing freely.

I am sure true extent of men affected by false allegations and sexual assault is far more pervasive than most could imagine, much of it remains repressed by the individuals and ignored or accepted by society under the most biased of sexual double standards.

Keep up the good work these issues need publicity and debate.

  13. It’s just reality that people will tend toward empathy not just for a woman but even for men & boys when their plight is relayed by a woman. (more so if she is attractive & young) Some MRA’s take this personal, maybe it is. It makes them feel the bias that they feel in their lives, in their own space that is meant to be free of that. That somehow women are credited as more effective MRA’s in another form of affirmative action or sycophantic inclusiveness toward female MRA’s. They don’t see the same outpour of encouragement and validation for male MRA’s that produce work of the same or higher quality. The response seems to go on the defensive, creating an environment where the female MRA is getting it from both sides (so to speak) branded both a labia traitor & an ‘infiltrator’. It’s nice to see that not happening here. Just imagine the loss if the likes of Esther Vilar, Erin Pizzey, Christina Hoff-Sommers & so many others were denounce & condemned to the point of censoring their message. Not to mention the new wave of exceptional female MRA’s like GWW, TyphonBlue etc. It’s crazy to shoot the messenger for the effectiveness of their message. I hope more videos are on the way soon Stefanie!

Thumb up 5 Thumb down 0
    • Well actually Stefanie is not an MRA, as per her own words, and she stated she was a feminist…in her past.

So I personally I do not credit her for being an effective MRA, but just for having done nice videos on the topics we cover.

But I agree with you that there is a general tendency to give a warmer welcome to female contributions (I do not make any exception) than to male contributions, but this is a human reaction, and there are good reasons for that.
“Living on the edge” as we are forced to do, to raise awareness on misandry, by speaking loud, by writing boldly with a politically incorrect language, while facing continuous smearing by professionals of female victim-hood and conformism, is a tough experience and so you need some kind of positive feedback from the the side the feminist narrative assumes to be our victim. It is a sort of validation we are not falling into “self consensus”, or in fanaticism.

Closing, it is curious to me to observe that Stephanie does not consider herself an MRA (even because her life would become immediately more troublesome) but actually she made much more than myself for the cause.
In comparative terms with her, I’m a radical feminist.

Thumb up 5 Thumb down 0
      • Well, Stefanie has declared her non-feminist status. That puts her in the realm of being in between, where a lot of men and women are on this issue.

I am not too perturbed by this. Why do any supporters of the MHRM have to actually be members of said movement?
        Is it necessary?
If we are to gather many who are willing to stand by our sides and fight for the welfare of boys and men, do we burden them with rules?

Surely our desired outcome would be to realise our goals, then see the MHRM disbanded forever???

Or do we simply add to our ranks all who care enough to stand and voice their displeasure at the abuses and discrimination that is meted out to innocent boys and men.

After all, isn’t that what the feminists did in the first place over 40 years ago. Didn’t they garner support from the general population by eliciting emotional responses from the public as they tugged at their heart strings and also shamed them into action.

Well, the fembots were exceedingly successful in their campaign, because they have successfully changed the face of society throughout the modern world.

We must therefore adopt a similar battle plan, but be open and honest about it, not underhand and deceitful like the feminists.

Thumb up 3 Thumb down 0
      • I realize she doesn’t identify as an MRA per se, same as Esther Vilar, Erin Pizzey, Christina Hoff-Sommers etc etc etc. My perspective is that someone that avocates for the human rights of men is a defacto mens right avocate despite namesake.
Warren Farrell was also a Feminist in the past as was Paul Elam to my knowledge and many others. I wasn’t making a semantic point of self selecting banners, only specifically in regard to her content, which is of course MRA content.

Thumb up 1 Thumb down 0
    • I have to disagree with you on one point Mate regarding young and beautiful women.

It made no difference to me whether Stefanie was a good looking young bird or a wrinkled up old prune bird.

The sheer fact that she is a ‘she’ and has cared enough to show some form of empathy for the suffering of men and boys, is what has elicited a response from me.
I am pretty gun shy at present, and younger women are more likely to receive a verbal slap from me, because a huge majority of them make themselves ugly by what comes out of their mouths.

We must all realise that youth and good looks is no prerequisite to honesty and commitment and not let ourselves be sucked in by their looks. Because indeed, many of the young females today are toxic serpents waiting to strike at the kind hand of a gentle man.

And knowing all the above, means that in my book, Stefanie has made a huge amount of ground to meet with my approval.

Thumb up 4 Thumb down 0
      • Think you may have missed my point to some degree.
“and younger women are more likely to receive a verbal slap from me, because a huge majority of them make themselves ugly by what comes out of their mouths.”
My point is that when a young beautiful woman ‘doesn’t’ come out with that standard misandry and in fact ‘does’ publish quality advocation for mens human rights, the sheer rarity is swamped with encouragement (which is absolutely fine) You may be the exception that proves the rule, I’m just commenting on the evidential ‘bias’. christy0misty is another example going back a while.
“And knowing all the above, means that in my book, Stefanie has made a huge amount of ground to meet with my approval.”
Again, this is essentially my point.

Thumb up 1 Thumb down 0
        • No, I got your point.
I took what you said as meaning men allowing themselves to be sucked in by a bit young good looking skirt. Which by the way is a huge problem, because it happens all too often. I’m not saying it happens here either!

Just because it is a young beautiful female, there is a risk that all the guys come out patting her on the back and the inference I gather is that if she was an old wrinkled women, she would get far less men coming out in support of her.

I would think that most ‘red pill’ men are not like that, because they have learnt that lesson long ago.

Yes, my point was that I couldn’t care if it was this lovely young Stefanie, or a woman in her 70′s who gave such an emotional account of her feelings when reading out those email stories. She would most definitely illicit the same response from me.

Good looks does not encourage me to come out in support.
But I am glad this young woman has, because we need many women of all ages to assist in this battle. And Stefanie is most welcome, regardless of whether or not she calls herself an MRA.

    > ” there are many countries in the world where women’s rights are still being compromised ”

Too true. However, as I shall write about in future articles, the rights of MEN in those same countries are similarly compromised.

In other words, on average, the sexes suffer equally… something so-called egalitarian feminists refuse to admit because it knocks them off their government-funded, pampered pedestals.

This is a key component of feminism: refusing to look at the other side of the coin.

For example, I often heard women in Japan were “second-class” citizens. Then I met a prominent female writer on Japan’s major newspaper. She said females in Japan ruled the roost. That is, in the home, they were queens. They decided how to spend household money, determined children’s education, etc. Also, retired men were often treated as annoyances by their wives who suddenly had to share female bastions. They mocked their former working-stiff mates as “wet clingy leaves.”

Similarly, I heard a biased public radio fembot interview an African woman. The latter lamented that she couldn’t build a house because her tribe deemed that a male role. So where was her husband? About 500 miles away, living with 50 other men in a shack, mining diamonds. He worked long, dangerous hours..drinking himself into a stupor when “off,” missing his family. HIS pain was not even recognized, though I’ll wager he suffered more than wifey.

Of course in America, feminists NEVER compare women’s lives with what men endure. In fact, they count on men remaining silent, creating the illusion that Snow White suffered more than John Henry.

    • Robert, you make a very good point. On the TV last night there was a feature on illegal coal mining in South Africa, where young men make a little money. It featured a young university student who works evenings and weekends in appalling and dangerous conditions to make 70 Rand per week. He gives 50 Rand to his mother to help her feed and clothe his young siblings.

Last year we had the case of the Chilean miners who were rescued. What proportion of them were female? The usual.

Yellowcab what you say may be true but I have not been falsely accused, not that I can’t ever be, but respect goes a long way. Throughout 2012 and 2013 especially on college campuses, women have not fared well in these situations. Jordan will not suffer from my opinion, but this woman will continue to suffer from this event for the rest of her life. Why would she go through this if her accusation was false, I cannot imagine. • ” But universally we all have a problem with failing to respect women. ”

      THIS GUY NEEDS IMMEDIATE HELP.

People respect INDIVIDUALS who are worthy of respect.
      Gender,race,etc. shouldn’t matter at all.
So in this idiot’s world view you can be the lowest of the low as a human being ALA you are a woman you deserve respect !
What kind of perverted fantasy is this?

  19. Stephanie, thank you so much for sharing these stories. This is such important work.

I wish I had known about your call earlier. I have been sexually molested in front of teachers who did nothing about it. And I have seen violence come of false accusations. I try to tell my story whenever I can, in the hopes that it will give other men the courage to share with me, or just to share with someone.

We need to hear these stories, however hard they are to share, until the world understands that they do happen, and far more often than we think. Its only then that men will feel free to seek help, and it is only then that we will create laws and programs to protect and aid man and boys who have gone through this.

    • Hey Brian – maybe send Stephanie your story anyway? I am pretty sure she will be doing a follow up on this…

And, as for her one down-voter, that, surely, is a badge of honour. What a wonderful young woman she is.

      • Sent. Even if she doesn’t make any use of it, maybe it will give her fuel for something else.

As to down-voters, the cartoonist Dante Shepherd pointed out that success can be measured by how people respond to you. When you are just starting out you get fan mail, when you are on your way to success you get feedback and criticism, when you have made it you get hate mail, and when you are at your peak, you see intellectual critics being genuinely dismissive of your work.

Study Reveals Female Rape Victims Enjoyed the Experience

It also calls into question whether the concept of “consent,” where it relates to sexual activity, is antiquated. Indeed it calls into question whether the concept of “rape,” in the literal definition, is just a cultural misconception for a male tendency to fulfill women’s desire for sexual excitement and thrills and women’s collective desire to see this accomplished.

Love and MGTOW

Scholar and Man Going His Own Way Peter Wright has a look at people's ideas about love and marriage throughout history, and concludes that much of what we today call "romance" is a historical aberration starting in the middle ages with the concept of courtly love and the image of white knights on bended knee, begging for a token from their Lady.
