A MAN charged with fatally bashing his young daughter at their rural home two years ago – and who later committed suicide – was wrongly accused of the crime, and his girlfriend was believed to be responsible, an inquest has heard.
The girlfriend and her brother have accused the father, Robert, of bashing two-year-old Hayley in a drunken and enraged attempt to discipline her at his St Arnaud home.
Robert committed suicide four days after Hayley was admitted to hospital. She died about a month after the July 2009 assault.

The girlfriend and her brother will not be cross-examined at the hearing into the two deaths on the basis that their testimony could incriminate them.
The Coroners Court, sitting in Ballarat, yesterday heard that the girlfriend’s daughter believed her mother was responsible for Hayley’s injuries.
This claim was made in testimony from a childcare worker, who said her own daughter had spoken with the daughter of Robert’s girlfriend about Hayley. While talking about Hayley’s hospitalisation, the girlfriend’s daughter had said, in part: ”Mummy hurt [Hayley's] head and she has to have stitches.”
The childcare worker told the court that when she told police what her daughter had told her, they were not interested. Two Stawell detectives had told her that her information would not change their minds because they had sufficient evidence to convict Robert of the crime.
That information consisted largely of a police statement from the girlfriend and her brother. In their 2009 police statements, released yesterday, they accuse Robert of several violent acts against Hayley. The brother said Robert told Hayley that ”he was probably going to kill her and go to f—ing jail”.
He said Robert made Hayley stand in the middle of the kitchen until late at night to punish her for misbehaving.
Robert had later gone up to Hayley ”and kicked her feet clean out from under her so that she has fallen straight back onto the back of her head”.
”He looked like he kicked hard enough to knock me out,” the brother said. ”She was crying then and got back up.
”Rob told her: ‘I’m your dad and I can do whatever I want. If you think other people are mean, then you should see how mean I can be!”
The girlfriend claimed in her statement that Robert continually slapped Hayley during the night if she moved or looked around. She said that when taking the girl from the room, Robert deliberately bumped Hayley into the walls and anything that got in the way.
”He tried to stand her up on the table but her knees kept buckling … She was crying out ‘Daddy, Daddy’,” she said.
”While he was standing her up, he full-on shoved her back and her head into the wall which the kitchen table is around. This caused her head and back to make a crack in the wall and caused Hayley to scream.”
The brother said Hayley became unconscious and blood started pouring out of her nose. He said this prompted Robert to tell his daughter: ”I’m sorry darling. Daddy loves you.”
The inquest heard on Monday that senior homicide detectives are now continuing to investigate the case and are dissatisfied with the way Stawell detectives initially handled it. The girlfriend is now a suspect in the investigation.
The inquest before coroner John Olle will examine the Department of Human Services’ role. The initial police investigation – and whether police too hastily charged Robert – will also be scrutinised.

We know a women’s looks heavily influence a man’s (and woman’s) judgement of her – i.e. the prettier she is, the more of a pass she gets for being a bitch, as unfair as that is.
Another factor could be if white men are more chivalrous towards white women, black men are more chivalrous towards black women, and asian men are more chivalrous towards asian women, and so on.
I don’t think there’s much chance of a study like that being done, but I would suspect it to be the case. It just seems to be the way people operate, even if only at a subconcious level.

I don’t understand how such “Deadbeat Dad” sites are helpful in restarting/beginning support from men who are unemployed. Potential employers, after reviewing references and performing due diligence, may opt to pass these men over because of (amongst other things) the social stigma attached to being on such a list. Further draconian actions of revoking drivers’ licenses and passports make finding employment almost impossible and drive men to despair.
Thus far (thank God) I have always been able to make both my child and spousal support payments. Some men, because of circumstance, aren’t so lucky. Frankly, I am terrified of ever losing my job because I know what would await me in “Dad Friendly” Ontario Canada if I were not able to find another job almost immediately.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Four people charged with kidnapping a man, tattooing “RAPEST” on his forehead and shocking his genitals with a stun gun before beating him unconscious with a baseball bat pleaded guilty to kidnapping and maiming charges.
Three of the defendants also pleaded guilty Tuesday to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in a plea agreement with prosecutors while the fourth pleaded no contest to the charge during a hearing in Oklahoma County District Court. A no contest plea has the same effect as a guilty plea but is not an admission of guilt.
Richard Dellert, Zachary Provence, Kimberly Kirchler Vergara and Lorena Hodges were accused of attacking 18-year-old Stetson Johnson on April 17.
Del City police have said they were punishing Johnson after one of the women accused him of trying to have sex with her.
Johnson denied the allegation, saying he is acquainted with all four suspects but has never tried to hurt any of them. Investigators have said there was no evidence to support the others’ claim.
‘Mob mentality’
Special Judge Stephen Alcorn sentenced Dellert, 25, and Provence, 21, to a total of 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of probation.
Vergara, 24, who clutched a Bible during the hearing, and Hodges, 33, were each sentenced to five years in prison and five years of probation in the attack a prosecutor characterized as “a brutal case of bullying.”
“I think a mob mentality took over,” First Assistant District Attorney Scott Rowland said.
Johnson told authorities he was restrained with duct tape while “RAPEST,” apparently a misspelling of “rapist,” was tattooed across his forehead and a phrase that resembles “I like little boys” was tattooed on his chest.

The forehead tattoo has since been covered with another tattoo that looks like a bar code, and members of his family said he is working to have it removed.
Johnson said the attack began when he was thrown to the ground and kicked in the face “dozens of times” by two men while two women took turns using a stun gun on his genitals.
He said the attackers yelled obscenities at him and later put him in a car and transported him to Eagle Lake in Del City, where he was beaten in the arms and head with a baseball bat and left unconscious.
Fractured skull
Johnson said when he awoke, he walked to a nearby mobile home park where a resident called police.
He spent a week in the hospital, including three days in the intensive care unit, for treatment of a fractured skull, broken nose and other wounds sustained in the beating.
“There was a time when we thought his life was in danger because of his injuries,” Rowland said, adding that Johnson and his family agreed with the sentences. Rowland called the punishments “a fair and just result.”
Contacted after the hearing, Johnson’s mother, Lucy Ford, said the sentences were fair and noted that pursuing lengthier prison terms would have required her son to testify against the defendants in court.
“He doesn’t want to see those people again so it helps him mentally,” she told NewsOK.com.
Neither Johnson nor other members of his family attended Tuesday’s hearing. Ford said her son has recovered from his injuries and is working with a private clinic to have the tattoo removed from his forehead free of charge.
Rowland said the men received lengthier sentences than the women because they were more culpable.
During the court hearing, Provence admitted to beating Johnson while Dellert, who entered the no contest plea to the assault and battery charge, admitted to tattooing him.

There is no danger of libel for 2 reasons
1) all the criminal categories ONLY report and contain information that’s already public and final. The site ONLY includes women who have OFFICIALY been sentenced or admitted for a crime.
2) the big category is subjective and it says so right there. The term “bigot” has been used for decades against independents, republicans, libertarians and anyone not politically correct literally millions of times by now with no libel lawsuits.
If Register-Her gets sued successfully for libel due to using the term bigot it opens up the floodgates. It means every single media personality on the right and every victim of PC can now sue lectures. I think that if a person (including women) want to come out with books and articles, making themselves public figures, enriching themselves at the expense of the public, then they have no expectation of privacy, especially in the sphere of rebuttal against their work that they voluntarily published. In the case of Marcotte, who published anti-Black racist literature and anti-male sexist literature, and in the case of Valenti, who goes on speaking tours, I agree with the posting of addresses of home and work. These are public people who chose to put themselves out there and made lots of money doing it.
In the case of some woman who a man doesn’t like and “registers” her, I think we should be more careful. Many men are bitter. Men are people, fallible as women, and they can lie too. Women, as people, have reasonable expectations of privacy. I trust this will not morph into a disgruntled ex boyfriend’s way to hassle anyone.
