Email Subject: The Senate Judiciary Committee Needs Your Calls By Thursday
Title: The Senate Judiciary Committee Needs Your Calls Before Thursday’s Vote On VAWA

Dear (Contact First Name),

The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to vote on the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) this coming Thursday at 10am. As you know, we have found many flaws in this bill, which is why we created the Partner Violence Reduction Act (PVRA).

The Partner Violence Reduction Act:

  1. Gives priority to real victims.
  2. Reduces false allegations.
  3. Removes provisions that violate the Constitution.
  4. Protects families.
  5. Provides legal assistance for alleged victim and alleged offender.
  6. Requires third-party accreditation.
  7. Curbs immigration fraud.
  8. Makes the law gender-inclusive.

Today we’d like you to call members on the committee. Tell them to reject VAWA and to support the Partner Violence Reduction Act. More info: www.saveservices.org/pvra

Please contact the members listed below:

Call them once, call them twice, call them several times. Call Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Ask your family, friends, church family, co-workers and neighbors to call. And don’t forget to ask your facebook, twitter and google+ friends too.

It’s now or never, folks!

Sincerely,

Teri

  1. This is very important. I need to put together some letters and fire up my FAX machine, which will take a little time. I’ll be back after I get them sent. Thank you SAVE and AVfM.

I’ve sent something to almost all of them and will get to the rest.

Frame it around Deficit Spending and special interest pork programs. Don’t get into Mens Rights or even feminism. They need to be able to explain why they didn’t vote for it in a reasonable manner.

NOT voting for funding a program that helps fight violence against women is a sticky wicket for a politican…and feminists and Democrats know it.

    Done. Done,done,done,done,done,done,done.

As an aside I want to add I went to the Doc. today. While standing in line there were a series of banners called Silent Witness – personal stories of Domestic Abuse by Kaiser Permante members.

Of course, it featured tragically hopeful faces of…women.

Very sick and grouchy today, but I asked the clerk who was responsible for the “program”. She directed me to Admin.

I’m giving them a call tomorrow. While on their little hand out they do say he/she in one sentence, they only pictured the faces of women.

It seems to me the “Silent witness” is the male witness. Women are most vociferous about their abuse, while I can’t recall a solitary time I’ve ever heard a man mention his (OK, Willie Nelson in an interview talked abut his wife tying him up while dead drunk, and beating him half to death once…years ago).

When I feel not so irrational(I’m sick, ok?) I’m going to call Admin and have a discussion about how they may be discouraging males…after I ask if they even aknowledge male victims.

    • Any why they are contributing to the high rates of suicide for not acknowledging that men are abused by women every day.

Just did a quick online check. The photos used are not the photos, but they are the names of KP employees murdered in DV cases.

The must not have any men victimized by DV who worked there.

I doesn the “1 in 4 women blah, blah, blah thing, then as an afterthought it says “men can also be victims of abuse.

        Then…they feature Verizons “monster” video.

        Yes.

THAT video that was supposedly banned.

      • Kaiser Permanente is perfectly happy to have “silence” from the men on this. I’m a Kaiser member too, Cotton, and I’m healthy – they see very little of me, and that mostly when I bring in my aged aunt who is a “KP Advantage” Medicare-Plus patient.

(Suicide is even better for them, it gets you completely off their books – OK, that’s needlessly macabre. :) )

Realistically, off the books means no $$$$.

Every few years I wake up with a blinding pain in my neck, lasting for weeks on end. I aquired this one Christmas morning.

I’ve found holistic cures for carpal tunnel and tennis elbow( I do a lot of heavy lifting at work). NOTHING but heavy duty drugs and more drugs can touch this beast.

24 hours later now, it’s almost completely gone.

    • I remember seeing these type of poster’s before.
I went in and explained about battered men and how these poster’s actually discouraged men from asking for help.
      They were removed immediately.
We also now only have gender nuetral adds for domestic violence, the local feminist’s are pissed.

You had better luck than I did.

I’ve called and sent follow up Emails. They said they would get back with me soon.

        Haven’t heard from them.

        • I guess I got throught o the right person. It was a woman who worked for the outfit that paid for this anti-male propaganda.
Of course after she heard my personal story and how there was no where for me to turn for help, she was more than happy to oblige.
Seems now though, the gender nuetral adds have been removed.I guess having no adds for d.v. are better than actually saying that men can be victim’s of d.v..

OT, a bit, but VERY much worth looking into: I threw out for consideration on this site the idea of e-savvy MRAs starting their own online university. It’d been mulling around in my head again lately – when I came across this article from the Chronicle of Higher Ed. Note the professor’s use of “Blue Pill/Red Pill”!

I’ve done it too. Phone calls, because it’s a local call for me. Two voice-mails (Lindsey Graham and John Cornyn), two feminine voices answering, four masculine voices.

Keyster, I stuck close to the script you’d posted in the comment-thread for “All this goodness is killing me” – it’s short, sweet and to the point.

Every little bit helps, glad to do my bit.

Well, I called each and everyone of the numbers and asked to speak to each of the senators. They were unavailable, but I did leave messages asking them to reject VAWA and support PVRA. I was polite and non-threatening about it. I have never actually spoken out against anything before so this was definitely out of my comfort zone. I confess my hand was shaking as I dialed each number. Some of the receptionists asked for my zip code. I gave it to them. What do they do with it, though? Does anybody know? I’m feeling an adrenaline rush right now.

The zip code thing is to see if you are a constituent or not. I know Orrin Hatch has been around since I lived in SLC in the late ’70′s.

He’s a crooked bastard. He invested in “TrackerPal” GPS technologies, then passed AWA (Adam Walsh Act) legislation requiring technology only TrackerPal had available, using Ed Smart (kidnapped daughter Elizebeth) as a scare monger to push it through, even though GPS is expensive and does nothing to prevent crime.

You do know Nazi Germany pogoms started with rounding up sex offenders before branching out to other ‘undesirables”.

As someone who has been on the ground floor of America’s New Nazi regime it’s been a bird’s eye view of what is about to come…

Thumb up 4 Thumb down 0
    • Only one of the offices asked for my zip code, and it’s just to check to see if you’re a person who lives in that Senator’s district. In other words, are you someone who’s eligible to vote for the Senator?

Thumb up 3 Thumb down 0
  11. I went down that whole list of Senators, calling them all, and urged them to vote “no” against the Violence Against Women Act,” but to vote “yes” for the Partner Violence Reduction Act. Senator Hatch’s office asked for a bill number of the PVRA, and I told the receptionist that his office had been given that info. Sen. Lee’s office said, “We’ve been getting a lot of calls about this.” I hope those calls are more from MRA’s than feminists, because I know feminists are organized and have been calling.

Please keep calling, and thank you.

Wow. I’ve never done this before, but…it felt…GOOD!

Hello, my name is……Phone#……..I am calling as a woman, a Viet Nam era veteran and a mother to ask that the gender neutral partner violence reduction be initiated, rather than the gender selective Vionence Against Women act. As a woman who promotes equality, I am concerned that MEN are not being considered as victims of domestic violence.

    Thank you.

I talked to some machines, but some people said “wow, we’ve been getting a lot of calls about this today”.

    Wow is right.

I’m off to spend a few weeks on a Marine Corp base to visit family, and I don’t ask to use their computer. It’s going to have me on pins and needles to find out how this goes down.

Like I said before…this feels so right! So really good!

If they think women are incapable of violence…
Email them with articles: The Boy with a broken
leg and head trauma in Illinois being taunted by a
female teacher is a good one! If they were any

Patriarchy

Patriarchy has become the go to boogy-man for feminist ideologues, being blamed for everything from imaginary wage gaps to imaginary rape culture. Question is, is their idea of patriarchy just as fake as the problems they imagine it creates? Phil in Utah weighs in.
