Swedish news site called to task for misandry

Note: As promised, here is the translation of the open letter written in Swedish from AVfM Sweden to news site Nyheter24, which originally appeared on AVfM’s companion website in Sweden. This censure, too, is driving Swedish feminists crazy.—Eds.

Dear Nyheter24

How much dung will you be allowed to spew before anyone tells you off? Your web magazine with the in-context tasteless use of “news” in the title makes me sick.

Not a day passes without you publishing at least one article of radical feminist drivel. Pure, unadulterated opinion, sexist propaganda with only one goal: to paint half of the population as the worse gender and the other half as victims of structural oppression.

You reinforce, spread, and even create prejudices. Not one of your articles contains sound reasoning or solid arguments. You are probably (read arguably) one of the most horrific examples of a website that teachers should warn their students to avoid when sourcing information.

I could present countless articles published just within the last six months as perfect examples of how you contribute to the spreading of hate and contempt of a specific group based solely on outer attributes such as sex. There is a word for that: sexism. More specifically, in your case: misandry. And yet as you fuel the hate against one identifiable group of people in our society, you contribute to the division of people of different genders and ideological views. This in a time when we need to bridge that gap.

In what can only be a sick form of irony, you have started a rally to quell online hate while at the same time being the biggest web magazine to feed the flames of hate and contribute to the same division you claim to want to fight against. How much can you mock individual people (such as Marcus Birro) or a group based on sex (men) and avoid any form of scrutiny or responsibility? A lot, it would appear. Your victims, on the other hand, do not get to show you their grief, despair, or anger. If they do, you throw yourselves to the ground and yell for mommy prosecutor and daddy court, who will undoubtedly come to your aid as quickly as possible. Yes, the comment was dumb and tasteless. Maybe it even deserved to be sentenced. We have no opinion on that. Not all people are mature enough to express their anger and frustration in a nice way. But everyone can feel it. You can, your so-called reporter Irene Pozar could have chosen to view it that way. Show compassion. Especially as the comment came as a response to a chronicle that was very offensive and belittling towards the one sentenced. But not you. You don’t believe in that kind of justice. Instead, you proudly proclaim that you have gotten an online bully sentenced.

Most normal people can see the double standard. That I can promise. The double standard you pretend to be blind towards. The one the justice system is completely blind to. Yet you have no understanding. No pardon. Yet you demand it. And like a mafia boss you keep gorillas who with brute force make sure you get what you want. That the gorilla is a prosecutor paid by the state makes no difference. Does it feel good to bully people from under the protection of our feminist state’s wide skirt? Do you feel warm and safe under there?

I realize this is your business plan. To spread this hate and juicy gossip about the innocent. You know what gets you clicks, and since you are on “the good side” you get a lot of advertisers. I doubt that your idealistic conviction runs deeper than that. Start a gossip magazine, employ some hungry, young and angry feminist “reporters,” laugh all the way to the bank at the people whose lives get shattered. Well aware that this article is likely to give you more traffic, I feel it is legitimate and necessary to inform about this. Especially young readers, who believe you stand for something other than what you actually do. The usual. Money.

Or do you serve other purposes as well? More political ones? If so, then own it and account openly for those who finance your poisoning of the Swedish youth.

The connections to the big feminist kingpins are obvious

There are not many readers of Nyheter24 that really support their sick views. However, they more or less unconsciously support the newspaper that spreads them. You who go there and read the filth, is this really the kind of media you want replacing the old ones? Do you want new ones that are even worse? Think about it and realize that even if you are not actively paying anything to read the dung, you do so with your mere presence.

AVfM Sweden also received many visitors yesterday. This is because we showed an example of the apparent hypocrisy Nyheter24 represents. The difference is that we do not promote hatred towards either men, women, or specially designated victims to receive visitors. We reveal those who do. Nor do we bully people or create false campaigns against hate on the web. All we need to do is to write the truth. We are convinced that it is more popular among the readers than even gossip, filth, and conflicts.

We are convinced that it is media like us who strive never to deviate from the truth and do not shy away from it even if it is inconvenient or politically incorrectthey are tomorrow’s winners in the media industry. People are tired of the lies, hypocrisy, and sanitized reality. They want to know the truth. That is the kind of journalism we want to create. The kind of journalism we will create as we get the resources to do so.

However, we have no advertisers queuing up to advertise here. But that day will come. All it takes is just enough people who understand the difference between hatred and opposition to hate. The difference between equality and feminism. As more and more victims of the policies are raising their voices in protest, we are approaching that point with increasing speed.

We are what we are called: a voice for men. This is because it is necessary in a time when there is no pre-existing voice. We take up men’s issues. Highlight, inform, and teach. We also want to expose the rotten core of today’s policies and the great social costs it creates. Not least in the form of suffering. This does not mean that we are a voice for masculinization or traditionalism. Nor the voice of other ideological dogmas. Rather, common sense and balance.

Who knows? One day maybe the Swedish advertisers will reward such a purpose rather than the speculative trashy gossip, hate, sexism, and bullying. It sure would be a gift to pray about. The day that happens, sites like Nyheter24 will meet their maker.
