Send a note to Tom Leykis, score four bucks for AVfM Radio

The ever resourceful and persistent KARMA has once again pitched in with more than his share of help for A Voice for Men. This time, he has pledged to ante up two dollars (matched by Cumbria) for every message sent to Tom Leykis about the new AVfM Radio program set to debut Tuesday night at 9:00 EST on Blog Talk Radio.

And here is the deal.  After buying a $2,500.00 BTR membership, a new laptop dedicated to the show, condenser microphones, filters, voice modification software, backups for everything, and quite of few other related expenses, we DO need the continued funding.  So let me ask you to help us out here by FLOODING Mr. Leykis with messages. It just takes a minute, and you can do it by simply clicking

here

I just sent mine, as follows:

Hey Mr. Leykis,

Ma boys and me are firing up a Blog Talk Radio show called A Voice for Men. I’m the host, Paul Elam, founder of avoiceformen.com and former Editor-in-Chief for mensnewsdaily.com. avoiceformen.com is tracking toward 1 million hits a year; steadily growing.

Suffice it to say that almost all of my readers, and future listeners, are huge fans of yours.  We’re hated by pretty much the same people, too. I’ve been dogged by the New York Times, CBS News and Ms. Magazine.

My readers were more than generous, donating a nice bag-o-cash to help me get things started.  And the fundraising continues in some very creative ways. A reader just now offered two dollars a throw for every message sent to you regarding the new show. This is my two bucks worth for the million dollar man himself.

That would be you.

Please keep up your great work, and if you get a chance visit blogtalkradio.com/avoiceformen any time after Tuesday, March 1, 2011 and give us a listen.

Kind regards,

Paul Elam
A Voice for Men Radio, avoiceformen.com

Thanks again to KARMA who never stops working for this movement.

    Paul, I have a question –

Are you linking the show, and AVfM to Leykis? Is the hope that he will put up a link to the radio program on his page? Im just curious

    • I had not even thought about it, but if Mr. Leykis links to the show I will be dancing in the street. If you are sending him a note about the show, feel free to suggest it, and thanks.

And I think I will go in now and put up a link to his site from here. Good suggestion.

    I sent T.L. a note at http://www.leykis101.com/contact-us

    “Howdy:

I comment regularly at Paul Elam’s site A Voice For Men and at other sites where men’s issues matter. Keep up the good work!

    TB”

Hope this helps, Paul. Which does bring up a good question:
do you have an operating expenses budget and target numbers for needed monthly contributions? Having an idea of the costs of doing business would help especially for those of us who know how to write grant proposals. (hint, hint) ;-)

    • minus the misandrists, and misogynists too…..

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
      • Charges of misogyny are of total irrelevance and do nothing but deflect from the truth wherever they appear.

        There is no misogyny.

With things the way they are, there cannot be. It is an impossibility.

There are, however, women so overprivileged that every slight upset she faces, which pale compared to the everyday trials of your average man, is evidence of ‘misogyny’ and an invisible, all-encompassing ‘patriarchy’ bearing down on her pwecious little life.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
        • Just because 99% of accusations of misogyny are false does not mean that misogyny does not exist.

We can’t complain about misandry if we complain that misogyny doesn’t exist. Remember all tha matters is the goal, and the goal can not be reached by being off-putting to allies.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
          • And here we see that the discussion has been deflected towards women and what we can do to best please them.

            Just as I stated.

          • The Enlightener in reply to Snark

In my discussions with misandrist Reddidiots, they’ll occasionally claim I’m making sweeping generalizations about western women. The only difference is that, when a feminist claims all men are rapists, this is a FALSE generalization. When I say most western women are not suitable for anything more than pump and dump or that women are less interested and less talented when it comes to STEM fields and sports, these are TRUE generalizations.

There’s no logical basis for misandry in our world; most men are good.

There’s a real driver, however, for misogyny; most women are just BAD.

This isn’t hatred of women, not at all. I love my woman and I love my mother. I love other women in my life as well. But it would be dishonest to deny that the vast majority of western women are entitled princesses who hold very misandric views.

Facts in and of themselves cannot be hateful.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
          • Let’s entertain for a moment the notion that misandry is 1000 times more prevalent than misogyny.

Even then its not strategically and/or politically useful to claim that misogyny doesn’t exist (ever). If we want to be TAKEN SERIOUSLY when we complain about misandry, is it USEFUL to claim this?

People are laughing at us when we talk about misandry, and some of ya folks want to speed up the not-being-taken-seriously part.

Rambo is a movie, not real life. In real life you strategize and pick your battles well.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
          • The Enlightener in reply to AlekNovy

I believe it’s entirely plausible to claim that misandry exists and is unjust even if misogyny exists and is well-earned. Judging by how western women have reacted to their privilege, misogyny is an appropriate response.

Misandry is a true problem in the western world. Misogyny, on the other hand, is a true rarity.

Most men who have a problem with women have it for a reason.

Most women who have a problem with men have it for NO reason.

“People are laughing at us when we talk about misandry”

This is unacceptable. Sooner rather than later, people will stop laughing about misandry. And it will be WE who stop the laughter.

          • I like all your idealism… But the real battles are won through politics and strategy, not wishing and wanting things to be different.

I demand an apology. What have I “Lied” about? Since when is an opinion a lie?

I’m sorry that I don’t agree with you RAMBOs from the spearhead.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
          • I’m not from the spearhead. I give you,in your own words:

Even then its not strategically and/or politically useful to claim that misogyny doesn’t exist (ever). If we want to be TAKEN SERIOUSLY when we complain about misandry, is it USEFUL to claim this?

People are laughing at us when we talk about misandry, and some of ya folks want to speed up the not-being-taken-seriously part.

The lie being that people will laugh at us if we don’t protest misogyny. With time ever passing we see more misandry and if they are still laughing throw facts at them then see who’se laughing then.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
          • “The lie being that people will laugh at us if we don’t protest misogyny.”

Ok then, it was an honest missunderstanding :)

I am *NOT* saying that we pro-actively protest misogyny… Duh, why would we do that. That’s for women to worry about.

What I am saying is that we stick to our OWN issues. We go out there and say “listen people, we have a misandry problem” and stick to misandry.

I am protesting snark’s idea that we go out there and be like “people people omg, misandry, omg, oh and btw, there is no such things as misogyny”.

Make sense? I say we stick to protesting misandry, not waste time whining about how there is no misogyny or what not.

Yes that is very much my idea of what we should say and how we should say it. Replete with ‘omg’s.

I was coming around to what you were saying, but if you have to make shit up to sell your point then it’s not worth buying.

EXCEPT I never said the things you accused me of saying. Your anti-mangina paranoia is so frighteningly sensitive, that anytime anyone says anything that has even 0.001% subtlety, you read it as the exact opposite stance of yours.

You: There is no such thing is misogyny blaaaaaaaaaaah blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Me: Dude, its not politically feasible to run out there like rambos and start whining about things most people will see as a conspiracy theory.
(Meaning: Stick with talking about misandry, not whining to an already suspicious public about how misogyny is a conspiracy theory)

You: Oh, so you’re saying you want us to go out there and spend all our time fighting misogyny and licking women’s boots huuuuuuuh!!!?!?!?

Dood, just chillax. You know that the only two options in life aren’t that you either lick women’s boots like some sort of a mangina, or that you run out guns blazing like a nut-job rambo and try to tackle 50 things at once, and declare 50 things people find hard to believe.

Those are not the only two freaking options.

        • How about we skip the “male andrea dworkin” stage altogether?

The whole reason the MRA exists is because feminism got run by a bunch of man hating bitches who came from the principle that “its impossible that men get hurt, because men are a privileged class blabla bla bla”. So they did one thing after another to hurt and screw up men.

Now you’re using the EXACT same logic to say that its impossible for women to get in ANY way shape or form, because women are a privileged class?

So we go through our own stage and become the next feminism? And then females wake up and have their own radical movement, and then males wake up and have their own male movement?

How about we fucking stop those phases now and admit both men and women are capable of being hurt, and I don’t want anything to do with a fucking male version of Andrea Dworkin. The original andrea dworkin was enough.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
          • There is no ‘male Andrea Dworkin’. Nor could there conceivably be.

On the other hand: there was a real female Andrea Dworkin.

            This is exactly the point.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
          • “you’re using the EXACT same logic to say that its impossible for women to get in ANY way shape or form, because women are a privileged class?”

I didn’t say that. If you have read that into what I have said, then go ahead and argue against yourself and your own misconceptions, but don’t bring these complaints to me.

Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0
          • Yes you did. You said there can be no misogyny, because women are privileged. That’s exact kind of fucked-up logic that fucking Dworkin used to create this fucked up anti-male world we live in.

Those same fucktards are in MEGA-doodoo coz they didn’t take into account ECOLOGY when they did their crap movement. Why would we want to repeat their mistakes?!

They were like “There is no such thing as boys failing in schools, because boys are privileged”, so they screwed our boys over. They were like “There is no such thing as false accusations, because men are a privileged group and can learn from the experience”.

You’re using the same freaking logic.

Note Again: (try to get the subtlety). I’m not saying we go out of our way to fight misogyny. I couldn’t give a rat’s ass about it from a neutral standpoint. That’s someone else’s battle. What I am saying is:

            1) Watch your ecology – that means, we don’t go out of our way to say “fuck women, who cares how they get affected” – This isn’t us working FOR women. This is us not working AGAINST women. This is merely watching that we remain a pro-male movement, as opposed to an anti-female movement. Otherwise we just end up at the same place feminism is at today… We repel all possible allies, and it takes us many more years to be legitimized.

            2) Politics and strategy. You don’t come out in a way that will be perceived as a “raving lunatic”. If everyone believes that there is “rampant misogyny” and there is no such thing as misandry… why the fuck would you come out of nowhere and shout “oh btw, misandry is all over the place, and misogyny is non-existent”? How does that win you credibility?

STICK TO MISANDRY. Pick your battles well. Stop obsessing with women. Some of you guys are so obsessed about not-accidentally helping women, that you’d rather not help men if it accidentally (god forbid) helps women. I realize some of you were the extreme nice-guy or what not, so now you’ve swung over to the other extreme… Like you’d LITERALLLY choose the slower-path of growth for this movement, if it guarantees we don’t (ohmigod) accidentally help women.

Here’s my contribution to informing Tom Lykis:

    Tom
I think I heard you once back in 2003. I was headed toward Milwaukee later at night but during the time spent listening the AM station never once mentioned your name nor did the speaker, who I assume was you. I assume it was you back in 03 because no one but you speaks so candidly about women. It was refreshing. I was high-fiving the air in my vehicle.
But as of late there is another man who speaks quite frankly about men and women and he is about to take to the airwaves himself come March 1/11. You’ve no doubt by now heard about Paul Elam of A Voice For Men. He writes great articles for advancing the cause of men’s issues. Although he does not have the listener volume base as do you it is still quite worth the time to check him out.
    Cheers

    Thanks to KARMA and Cumbria.

    • thank you for these wonderful quotes KARMA.
I printed them and will carry them in my purse everyday to be reminded and encouraged, alongside this quote from Og Mandino:

“I will act now. I will act now. I will act now.
Henceforth, I will repeat these words each hour, each day, everyday, until the words become as much a habit as my breathing, and the action which follows becomes as instinctive as the blinking of my eyelids. With these words I can condition my mind to perform every action necessary for my success.
I will act now. I will repeat these words again and again and again. I will walk where failures fear to walk. I will work when failures seek rest.
I will act now for now is all I have. Tomorrow is the day reserved for the labor of the lazy. I am not lazy. Tomorrow is the day when the failure will succeed. I am not a failure.
I will act now. Success will not wait. If I delay, success will become wed to another and lost to me forever.
This is the time. This is the place. I am the person.”

I’ve been on a Tom Leykis feast all day today :) I made it Leykis Sunday. There’s a TON of good stuff to listen to youtube. I thought I’d heard every leykis clip, but I keep finding new ones.

    @Paul

Anything happen yet? Has contact been made? Has he written back etc?

Could someone provide a “best of Leykis” recommendation? I’ve really never heard much about him.

    • He has a few videos on “sexual harassment” and “domestic violence”. Those might be significant/relevant.

    • I like Tom Leykis, I really do. But in this video he’s talking about plying women with alcohol on a date as a precursor to sexual activity. It has been mentioned quite often on False Rape Society, that alcohol-fueled sex can lead some women to make false rape accusations. So, all I can say is: caveat emptor.

As an older man, unlike what Leykis says in this video that all dating is really just an elaborate ritual to get laid, I “date” women for various reasons that sometimes have nothing to do with “the poke.” Sometimes, it’s business-related, others just because I want to go to the symphony or a play and don’t want to go alone. There IS a difference between “getting down” and “getting down to business” in a relationship. Also, one’s perspective on dating and relationships will change drastically if (or when) one is falsely accused of rape, with all of the anxiety, drama, high costs in money, time, (and sometimes loss of reputation and employment) that a false accusation entails. So, if you’re looking to get your end wet, tread carefully, and become an interrogator yourself. While you may need to be diplomatic in phrasing the following questions to your prospects, ask (or find a way to investigate) the following before getting involved:

      * how did her last relationship end?
      * is she on any anti-depressants or other prescription drugs?
      * has she or any of her family members been diagnosed with fibromyalgia?
      * did she ever go to psychological/psychiatric counseling?
      * has she ever been in trouble with the law?
      * does she own pets?
      * how many pairs of shoes, purses, handbags does she have?
      * how is her credit status?
      * does she get along with her parents and relatives?
      * how does she feel about feminists and feminism?

The reasons for asking some of the above questions are obvious, some are not. Where not, I’ll be happy to elaborate.

Off-topic: Christian man. Busy man. And bless his heart if he takes his family out for dinner: “I’ll take the Saag Paneer and Channa Masala for 167 people, please.”

Of course, maybe he takes Leykis’ dating ideas to heart. :-P

I’m looking forward to the show, but is the first show going to be on the 1st or 2nd of March?
From the info on the on the show’s blogtalkradio page, I would have thought it’s going to be aired on the Wednesday the 2nd.
    Can anyone clear this up?

  37. Hey Tom,

Love your site, I just found out about it from avoiceformen.com. Your political incorrectness and PUA skills are fucking awesome. I really think the MGTOW, MRM and PUA are natural allies for dealing with the current cultural zeitgeist. You should really consider spreading your knowledge on A Voice for Men radio and linking to the site. This is a win-win proposal that will only gain more followers for everyone.
